Which ultrasonic probes do we repair?

Only perfect functionality of the probe guarantees that you can provide your patients with optimum care when using the ultrasound device. For this reason, the repair in a specialised workshop crucial. Our service covers the following types of ultrasonic probes, among others:

Linear probes: Probes with rectangular elements that generate parallel sound waves. Typical areas of application are muscles, tendons, thyroid gland, breast, vessels and joints.
Convex probes: These probes have a curved surface that generates a wider sound beam. They are suitable for abdominal examinations, for example.
Phased array probes: These probes use phase shifting to control the sound beam - ideal for cardiological examinations.
TEE probes: Transoesophageal echocardiography probes are inserted into the oesophagus to view the heart at close range.
3D/4D probes: These probes capture three-dimensional images in real time (4D adds the dimension of time). Pregnancy examinations are a popular area of application.
Matrix array probes: Up to 60,000 crystal elements are installed in matrix probes, which allow several viewing angles at the same time. This makes them one of the most demanding repair jobs.

1Collection of the ultrasonic probe

As soon as you instruct us to do so, we will organise the collection of your defective device by courier service.

2Loan device by express delivery

If you need a loan device, you will receive it immediately by express delivery. This means you only have to do without your ultrasonic device for a few days.

3Damage analysis and cost estimate

Within 1 week upon receipt of the defective device, you will receive detailed image documentation of the damage, including fault diagnostics, as well as a cost estimate for the repair.

4Repair in manufacturer quality

Once the order has been confirmed, we immediately begin with the professional repair using spare parts in OEM quality in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13485, EN ISO 14971 and MDR.

5Express delivery after repair

After the repair, we will deliver the fully functional probe to you. Your ultrasonic device is now ready for use again.

6Collection of the rental device

Only when you have been able to test your repaired ultrasonic probe and are convinced of the success of the repair will we come and collect the loan device.

7We advise you on endoscopy repair

Our customer service team can advise you on all questions relating to the repair of your devices, the availability of loan devices and our maintenance measures. For technical questions, we are also happy to facilitate direct communication with our specialist workshop.

How long do I have a warranty on the repair of my ultrasonic probe?

We offer a 6-month guarantee on all repairs carried out on your ultrasound probe by our specialised staff.

For ultrasonic probes from which manufacturer does Althea offer repairs?

Our many years of experience allow us to cover a very broad spectrum. We repair the ultrasonic probes of most common manufacturers. Ask us about your specific model.

What does a loan device cost during the repair?

In order to be able to finance a large pool of hire equipment, we have to charge a hire fee. We charge a flat rate for the hire equipment, which we communicate to you directly with the quotation for collection. This means you always know what costs you will incur.

Will the CE marking of my ultrasonic device remain valid after the repair?

When carrying out repairs, we adhere to the requirements of the Medical Devices Act (MPG) and the Operator Ordinance. In addition, we only use certified materials. The CE certification of your ultrasound device therefore remains valid even with a repaired probe.

What do spare parts in OEM quality mean?

Our spare parts offer the same specifications, materials and manufacturing processes as the manufacturer's original parts. Each element is transparently traceable back to the manufacturer. All spare parts fulfil DIN EN ISO 13485, EN ISO 14971 and the MDR (in particular Art. 23). 

How do I find out what is broken on my ultrasound probe?

Our specialist staff will record the damage to your ultrasonic probe using detailed image documentation. You will receive this together with a quotation for the repair costs.

How quickly will I receive a cost estimate for the probe repair?

You will receive a cost estimate for the repair of your ultrasound probe within 1 week. If you need a loan device, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can provide it promptly.
