If required and available, we carry out repairs with original spare parts or use compatible spare parts for your devices that have been tested in accordance with applicable quality standards. Comprehensive image documentation of the condition of the instrument sent in provides you with maximum transparency so that you can track the repair work carried out on your endoscope.
Our in-house repair service is carried out exclusively by qualified technicians, offering you and your patients the greatest possible safety. Extensive testing and continuous quality assurance make our endoscope repair service a popular alternative to purchasing new instruments.
Loan equipment during the entire repair period
We have a range of over 200 loan devices from well-known manufacturers such as Pentax, Olympus and Fujinon. For a small flat rate, we provide you with high-quality loan equipment for the entire duration of your endoscope repair so that you do not have to postpone important examinations.
Thanks to our large stock of loan devices, in most cases we can provide you with an identical device or an instrument with the same range of functions for the duration of the repair. In the unlikely event that this should not be possible, we will organise an adequate replacement device that meets your requirements in consultation with you.
Steps of your endoscopy repair
1Repair order and pick-up
As soon as we receive your repair order, we will arrange for a courier service to pick up your defective device for endoscopy repair or ultrasound probe repair at your desired location and hand it over to us by express delivery.
2Loan device by express delivery
On request, we will send you an adequate loaner device by express delivery for the entire duration of the repair of your instrument in order to avoid unnecessary downtime.
3Detailed damage analysis and costs for repair
4Repair in manufacturer quality
We use all the experience gained from the development of our in-house devices to offer you ultrasound probe and endoscopy repairs at manufacturer level. Once the order has been placed, we start repairing your instruments immediately.
5Express returns
After the successful endoscopy repair by our trained specialists, we put your instrument through its paces before sending it back to the address of your choice by express delivery.
6Collection of the rental device
We use all the experience gained from the development of our in-house devices to offer you ultrasound probe and endoscopy repairs at manufacturer level. Once the order has been placed, we start repairing your instruments immediately.
7We advise you on endoscopy repair

How long is the warranty on the endoscope repair valid for?
Althea provides a 6-month guarantee on repairs to all appliances carried out by our specialist staff.
What does a loaner device cost during the endoscope repair?
We charge a lump sum for loan equipment in order to constantly expand our stock of loan endoscopes. The device is available to you for the entire repair period. The rental equipment fee covers the running costs for our large pool of constantly available and optimally maintained rental endoscopes. It enables us to constantly expand our stock and always provide you with a suitable device in perfect condition.
Please inform us of your requirements as early as possible so that you can avoid unnecessary downtime in your company.
Why does Althea charge a rental device fee?
The rental device fee covers the running costs for our large pool of constantly available and optimally maintained rental endoscopes. It enables us to constantly expand our inventory and always provide you with a suitable device in perfect condition

How long can I use rental equipment?
Our loan appliances are available to you for the entire duration of the repair. Where possible, we will always send you identical loan appliances so that you can continue your work undisturbed. If this is not possible, we will send you compatible devices with approximately the same characteristics by arrangement.
Does the CE marking remain valid after the repair?
The CE marking remains valid even after the endoscope repair, as Althea adheres to the strict guidelines of the MPG and the Operator Ordinance. As a certified company, we only use materials that fulfil the general safety and performance requirements. Therefore, an endoscope repair carried out by us expressly does NOT lead to the loss of validity of the CE marking or the declaration of conformity!

Where do the spare parts used for endoscope repair come from?
Every single spare part we use can be traced back to the supplier thanks to our detailed inventory management system. This allows us to guarantee our customers maximum transparency for every endoscope repair.
How are the endoscope spare parts used tested?
All spare parts used are subject to the European standard DIN EN ISO 13485:2021 Quality management system for medical devices. The risk assessment is also carried out in accordance with international standards, which are based on the requirements of EN ISO 14971:2019 and MDR 2017/745/EU, in particular Art. 23.
Are images taken of any damage to the endoscope or ultrasound probe?
To ensure maximum transparency, we produce image documentation for every appliance in our specialised workshop, in which we record any existing damage in detail. We make these available to you in full together with the cost estimate.
How quickly will I receive an estimate for the endoscope repair?
We will provide you with an estimate of the repair costs within 2 to 3 working days. If you require a loaner appliance, please let us know in good time so that we can provide you with one immediately after collecting your faulty appliance.
